This lesson focuses on the opposition around the world to Apartheid. Students are asked to assess and evaluate how effective four methods were in bringing about pressure on South Africa. These methods include Economic Sanctions, Peaceful Protests, Goods Boycotts and Sports Boycotts.

They must examine information to describe, explain and evaluate each method. This is done collaboratively and ideas recorded on a table. The lesson news with a piece of extended writing in paragraph form answering the question, 'How effective were international efforts to end Apartheid in South Africa?'

The lesson contains
- 15 slide a fully animated powerpoint with annotations for the teacher.
- four of the PowerPoint slides print out as information hangouts.
- A table to fill in.
- a paragraphing scaffold for the final question.
- A detailed lesson plan.

I hope you and your classes find this informative and useful.
